Beyond Good & Evil 2 is making its way to market at a glacial pace, having been announced in 2008 and little else said about it since then. Still, the studio has assured gamers that development is ongoing, and it appears as if some tangible evidence of that claim leaked out today.

Sure, it's blurry. But at this point, beggars can't be choosers.

Spotted by Beyond Good & Evil Myth, a shaky-cam YouTube video (below) appeared online over the weekend purporting to show concept art for Beyond Good & Evil 2. The video's author claims to have captured the footage at last week's Montpellier In Game conference, with Ubisoft's Michel Ancel and Jordan Mechner appearing on stage.

Concept art in the video appears to be heavily influenced by Indian themes, such as elaborate shrines to the elephantine god Ganesha and heavily laden tuk-tuks. It also depicts prosaic street-side shots.

According to Beyond Good & Evil Myth, Ancel and Mechner's invite-only presentation was themed around narrative design and the inspiration for their work. The Ubisoft designers reportedly said that the team working on the game flew to India to experience the heavily populated cities for themselves. They also reportedly said that the gameworld seeks to intertwine modern and traditional ways of life.

Ubisoft has not announced a release window for Beyond Good & Evil 2. For more information, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
