As if online titles like Monster Hunter Portable 3 weren't enough to secure Capcom's foothold in the action role-playing game business, the company that made Street Fighter is now working on another online-focused title. The kicker is that the upcoming game is going to be exclusive for the PC, according to the official announcement made on the recent issue of Famitsu (translated by Andriasang).

There aren't any official pictures of Ixion Saga for now, so just settle for this picture of Capcom's other online game, Monster Hunter Portable 3.

Called Ixion Saga, the game is an eight-versus-eight combat game where players fight each other using swords, guns, and magic. Players get to form "unions" with other players, as well as play around with class types like the striker (sword wielder), the caster (magic user), and the blaster (heavy firearms user). Capcom also states that the game will include giant monsters together with the aforementioned team-based combat. Details beyond that are currently scarce at this point in time.

The game's alpha testing will kick off next month, specifically on July 28 in Japan and will be open to 5,000 players. An alpha testing session in the US or any other country outside of Japan has yet to be confirmed. Ixion Saga will be out in the summer of next year.
