Tin Shui Wai in Hong Kong has been dubbed as the "city of sadness" due to its high rate of unemployment and suicide. In an effort to help out, Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong launched a job recruitment program called the Tin Shui Wai Asia Game Show Recruitment Campaign in 2007. As a result of the continuation of the campaign, SCEH was recently awarded with the Merit Award for Corporate Social Responsibility category at the first-ever Hong Kong Public Relations Awards 2010 held at the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Chief officer of corporate strategy office and general manager of marketing division James Hong said that "now in [the campaign's] fourth year, [the campaign] is more than just a common CSR activity, as we successfully aroused social concern for the unprivileged groups in Tin Shui Wai and other districts."

The last campaign, which was held in 2010, managed to recruit 150 people in various game-industry-related jobs.
