Later this year (hopefully), Electronic Arts will publish Star Wars: The Old Republic, the ambitious sci-fi massively multiplayer role-playing game from BioWare's Austin, Texas, studio. However, the project isn't the only massively multiplayer online game in the works at EA, as evidence of a new massively multiplayer project surfaced this week.

EA is working on a new, unannounced MMOG. What could it be?
EA is working on a new, unannounced MMOG. What could it be?

The clue came courtesy of an EA job listing on industry trade site Gamasutra. The listing plainly states, "We are currently looking for MMO expertise for an unannounced game at our Electronic Arts headquarters location in Redwood City, CA." The cheekily-but-passionately written position description then lists the requirements for the job, ending with the plea, "Come join one of the best and brightest teams making a revolutionary MMO." (Emphasis added.)

When queried by GameSpot, EA reps offered the following comment. "We've got many interesting projects incubating at the Redwood Shores campus; however, we don't have any announcements to make at this time."

EA's Redwood City campus houses a number of prominent substudios, including the Sims studio, which works on the eponymous popular series, and Visceral Games, creator of Dead Space and Dante's Inferno.
