Ubisoft has announced the next entry in the Might & Magic series--Might & Magic Heroes VI--is coming to PCs next year. The game will be developed by Budapest-based developer Black Hole Entertainment, maker of Warhammer: Mark of Chaos and Warhammer: Battle March.

The new game will begin four centuries before the events of Heroes of Might & Magic V, the well-regarded 2006 release. In this follow-up, a legendary archangel unites the peoples of Ashan against his ancient enemies, under the pretence of preparing for a demonic invasion. However, his plans are complicated by the powerful dynasty of the Griffin Dukes.

Black Hole will be making its mark on the franchise by "remastering" the game's classic role-playing-meets-turn-based strategy style, while also taking into account fan feedback. The studio has also ramped up the size of adventure maps to accommodate the construction of resplendent cities. Further, a new community interface will allow players to post content and compete online.
