Guillermo del Toro collaborating with 'big' game company - Report

Iconic film mastermind Steven Spielberg, in conjunction with Electronic Arts, created the Boom Blox Wii puzzle game franchise in 2008. The original and its sequel won generally favorable reviews, but he's no longer the only man in Hollywood creating games.

Guillermo del Toro, writer and director of the 2006 Spanish fantasy film Pan's Labyrinth and 2004's Hellboy, told MTV News that he's currently working with a "big" company on more than one video game.

"One of the things we're announcing in the next few weeks is a big deal with a big company," del Toro told MTV. "We're going to do games that are going to be technically and narratively very interesting. It's not a development deal. We're going to do it. We're doing them. And we're going to announce it soon enough."

Regrettably, del Toro didn't provide any further details on his video game efforts and said only that were he to reveal more details, the aforementioned company "would probably shoot me in the head."

Del Toro is no longer attached to the upcoming Hobbit films but has previously noted his interest in creating games from that universe. Also in an interview with MTV News, del Toro said he'd like to create a "revolution" with a Hobbit game, but due to time constraints, it's not planned to launch alongside the first Hobbit film.
