Medal of Honor beta fires up Xbox 360
Long-delayed multiplayer trial phase finally arrives on Xbox Live; period extended for PlayStation 3 and PC until July 21.
Xbox 360 owners received both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map packs a month ahead of their PlayStation 3 battle compatriots, but exclusivity for Microsoft's machine was flipped on its head for the Medal of Honor multiplayer beta. The beta for PlayStation 3 and PC gamers began in late June and just today arrived for Xbox 360 virtual fighters.
According to an update on Electronic Arts' Medal of Honor forums, the game's multiplayer beta is now live and available to download from the Xbox Live Marketplace. Additionally, those who have previously downloaded the PC or PlayStation 3 beta will need another key and EA account to play on the Xbox 360.
To secure a place in the beta, gamers need to preorder a copy of the game at participating retailers and enter the code at the beta registration page on the Medal of Honor Web site. Additionally, EA has extended the beta for the PlayStation 3 and PC to July 31. The Xbox 360 beta currently has no announced end date.
The beta gives players a glimpse into what to expect in the multiplayer department and features two maps, two game modes, and various class-specific weaponry. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's multiplayer preview.
