Fat Princess is about to get a little more meat on its bones. The newly formed Seattle, Washington-based independent developer Atomic Operations has announced a deal with Sony Computer Entertainment America that has the studio working on new downloadable content for the PlayStation 3's downloadable team-based multiplayer action game.

The rescue effort will continue in new DLC for Fat Princess.

Atomic Operations is headed up by Chris Millar, who was the lead developer on the original Fat Princess at Titan Studios. A pair of additional Fat Princess veterans, John Mundy and Chris Coster, are also working on the downloadable content.

Matches of Fat Princess play out much like a standard game of capture-the-flag, with the flag in this case replaced by rotund royalty. The game debuted on the PlayStation 3 last July and made its way to the PSP earlier this month with the European release of Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake. A US launch for the handheld adaptation is set for next month.

SCEA has not provided any details on the release date or the pricing of the DLC. For more on Fat Princess, check out GameSpot's recent preview of Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake for the PSP.
