Infinity Ward's record-breaking first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) debuted at the top of the overall Australian game charts for the week of November 9 to 15, according to data trackers GfK Australia. The Xbox 360 version was number one, while its PlayStation 3 cousin took out the second spot. The game's PC version made it into the fifth spot overall.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii, starring the second-greatest gaming hero of all time also came out in the same week as MW2, and despite selling well only made into the third spot. Cricket and Wii Fit Plus dropped down under the weight of the new titles last week, with Codemaster's sporting game taking out the fourth spot and Nintendo's popular fitness regime in sixth. On the lower end of the charts, the ninth position goes to Bakugan on the DS, while the Wii Play bundle closed out the week at number 10.
