DS Lego Rock Band goes peripheral-free
WBIE-published, Backbone-developed handheld building-block rhythm title will not incorporate hardware add-on for portable strumming.
When Activision announced Band Hero for the Nintendo DS last month, the publisher said that it would include a drum grip that snaps--one might say Lego-like--over the handheld's face. It could be considered odd, then, that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has opted not to pursue a similar route with the portable installment of Lego Rock Band.
Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment offered additional details on the DS and DSi installments of Lego Rock Band, which are expected to arrive alongside the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii editions later this year. Notably, the publisher said that the game doesn't support peripherals, with guitar, bass, drums, and vocal beats all matched using the DS's face buttons and touch screen.
The game, which is in development at Backbone Entertainment, will feature a number of other features common to the rhythm game genre, including character customization and multiple venues. The game also includes local multiplayer functionality for up to four.
While WBIE did not indicate how big of a tracklist Lego Rock Band on the DS will boast, the publisher did call out a number of tracks that will be included with the game, which can be found below.
