Aussie game charts: July 20-26

It worked for Wii Play, and it looks like it's worked again, with Nintendo bundling the new Wii MotionPlus with its latest minigame compilation, Wii Sports Resort. The bundle managed to jump straight to the top of the overall Australian game charts after just a few days on store shelves, according to data trackers GfK Australia.

People need Wii Remotes to stick their Wii MotionPlus dongles on, so it's not too surprising to see the Wii Play bundle, which comes with a bonus Wii Remote, in second place for the week of July 20-26. Both Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii dropped down into the third and fourth places, respectively. Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? sure is resilient, returning to the charts again in the sixth spot. Also making a comeback to the charts is Ben 10: Protector of Earth for the Nintendo DS, which took out the 10th position.

In other charts news, despite falling out of the overall top 10, Fight Night Round 4 had an excellent week on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, topping the sales charts on both platforms.
