Aussie game charts: July 13-19
Wii Fit reclaims top spot; Arma II successfully deploys on PC.
Last week saw the tussle between Wii Fit and Wii Play escalate with shifting positions: Nintendo’s flagship exercise product dropped out of first place and bowed to its Wii Remote and software bundled brother, Wii Play. This week Wii Fit has fought back, reclaiming the first-place crown in the overall Australian game charts according to data trackers GfK Australia. After a brief stint at the top of the world, Wii Play was this week demoted to second spot.
Other big movers and shakers include Sony’s PlayStation 3-exclusive title, Infamous, moving up two spots into sixth place, while Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince for the Wii and PlayStation 2 took out the fifth and ninth positions respectively. Aside from those minor changes, the top 10 remains mostly unchanged from the previous week.
In the PC charts, Bohemia Interactive's ultrarealistic wargame Arma II has made its debut in spot five, while EA's Sims 3 cash cow continues to track well, spending another week at the summit of the top 10 PC games chart.
