Wii MotionPlus, Wii Sports Resort dated down under
New Wii add-on to land in Australia on June 11; next Wii Sports follows a month after on July 23.
Late last week, Nintendo finally announced when gamers in North America would be able to get their hands on Wii MotionPlus--an attachment to the Wii Remote which improves the controller's sensitivity--as well as Wii Sports Resort, the first Nintendo-developed title to make use of the new add-on. Now the House of Mario has unveiled release dates for Australia, and it seems gamers down under won't have to wait for much longer.
Just like in the US, Wii MotionPlus will arrive first, shipping in Australia and New Zealand on June 11. The accessory will be priced at A$29.95/NZ$39 ($23). Wii Sports Resort will arrive more than a month after on July 23 and will retail for A$99.95/NZ$129. The game will come with one MotionPlus add-on included.
Despite Wii Sports Resort not being released in conjunction with MotionPlus, there will be several third-party games released before Sports Resort that will make use of the new accessory. Sega's Virtua Tennis 2009 is scheduled for a June 18 release in Australia, while EA's Grand Slam Tennis and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 are also listed as June releases.
