Tri-Ace composing Resonance of Fate for PS3, 360
Sega bringing Star Ocean studio's latest role-playing game End of Eternity to North America, Europe under new name.
Last month, the latest Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 project from Japanese role-playing game developer Tri-Ace (Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile) premiered in the pages of Famitsu under the name End of Eternity. North American and European fans of the studio won't have to wait quite that long to get their hands on the title, as the game's publisher, Sega, today announced that it would be bringing End of Eternity to North America and Europe.
However, the game will undergo a bit of a face-lift in the process, as Sega has renamed the title Resonance of Fate for international audiences. Although the title is set in a fantastic futuristic city in the sky, the publisher is placing an emphasis on "realistic gunplay" in a semi-real-time battle system.
According to Famitsu's report, End of Eternity is set in a city in the sky and is populated by a technologically advanced society. The action will follow primary protagonist Zephyr, who, along with his friend Vashyron, finds himself mired in a struggle involving a female known as Test Body No. 20. As the story goes, Test Body No. 20 learns that she is a scientific experiment and escapes from her research facility just before she is to be terminated.
Resonance of Fate is set for release in Japan this winter, with a North American launch following in the spring of 2010.
