It's been more than two years since THQ first revealed it had the license to make Ultimate Fighting Championship games. Befitting the mixed martial arts' Octagon-contained competition, the publisher has been appropriately "cagey" with details since. However, this week THQ finally confirmed some key specifics, announcing the release date, cover athletes, and complete roster for the long-awaited UFC 2009: Undisputed.

Coming soon: Caged Heat 4.

The first UFC game in more than five years will arrive on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 19. Although much of the game's promotion to date has focused on fighters such as Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Chuck Liddell, Undisputed will arrive on American store shelves featuring Forrest Griffin, former light heavyweight champion and winner of the first season of Spike TV's The Ultimate Fighter. Meanwhile, Canadian UFC fans will be able to pick up the game fronted by Quebec native and current welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
