Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 tees up June 16

EA Tiburon's annual golf simulator returns with real-time weather, US Open's Bethpage State Park on Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, and Wii.

As the sun also rises, so has EA returned for another year with its annualized Tiger Woods PGA Tour golf simulator. This year's installment will arrive for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, and Wii on June 16.

EA's Tiburon studio continues to refine its formula with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, adding in a number of new features and gameplay tweaks with this year's installment. Namely, the golf sim will for the first time include the US Open, a USGA championship, and the USGA's Rules of Golf. Bethpage State Park, which serves as the 2009 US Open course, will also be on prominent display in the Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, and Wii editions of the game.

As for the gameplay itself, EA said that it has added real-time weather effects to each course that correspond to current conditions on the real-world holes. Crowds will also play a larger role in PGA Tour 10, with EA saying that each hole will feature a larger assembly of spectators. The publisher also noted that ESPN's Scott Van Pelt and the Golf Channel's Kelly Tilghman will provide in-game commentary.

EA Tiburon has taken particular pains with the Wii edition of PGA Tour 10. As noted last month, the Nintendo console edition will support the new Wii MotionPlus, a Wii Remote attachment that aims to increase motion-sensing precision.

    never got into ea tiger woods.


    hot shots golf on the other hand, part 3 for psp would be awesome.
    When it comes to golf gaming, u either like hot shots, or tiger. i think all the other failed golf games prove that.

    I'm excited about picking this up for the Wii. MotionPlus ought to be a good addition for a game that was fun anyway.

    Realtime weather and more people in the crowds.Yeah that'll be worth 50-60 bucks alright.

    EA - give us a full-fledged golf course editor, and the ability to play along real-time with the PGA tour.

    @crombian i think they may be holding the release to bundle it with a yet to be announced first party game.

    But did they fix the custom player stats being based on each round of golf (in the X360 edition)? At least average it, or base it on the holes I actually played on... minus points to power because I was playing on 18 holes that had one short par 5 was lame.

    I'm really looking forward to this and to Wii Motion Plus. Hopefully the Big N can get their act together quickly enough to release the peripheral before Tiger '10 launches. While I'm thankful that Nintendo has even decided to move forward with Wii Motion Plus, they sure have taken their sweet time with getting this thing out to the public.

    I hope that this will be as good as they say. I still find that PGA Tour '04 was the best one of the series. I had a lot of fun with that game!
