If analysts' continued high valuation is any guide, the union between Activision and Vivendi last July was good business. However, the formation of Activision Blizzard wasn't without its casualties, given that several high-profile projects of Vivendi's now-defunct Sierra Entertainment label were left publisher-less by the deal.

The subsequent months saw several ex-Vivendi projects get picked. Atari nabbed Ghostbusters and The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, which it just dated yesterday for April 7. Barring an 11th-hour legal battle, Electronic Arts will publish DoubleFine's Brutal Legend, and Ubisoft was so pleased with World in Conflict: Soviet Assault that it bought its developer, Massive Entertainment.

As 2009 began, one of the few ex-Sierra games that remained unadopted was Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust. However, this week the game appeared on the official site of British publisher Codemasters, complete with screenshots of the various film parodies featured in the game, including Titanic rip-off Bytanic. According to the site, the game will arrive in April on the PC and Xbox 360, and "spring 2009" on the PlayStation 3.

First announced in January 2008, Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust will see players step into the loafers of college student Larry Lovage as he works a summer job at a movie studio run by his uncle, the original Leisure Suit Larry. While there, Larry the younger attempts to uncover the identity of an employee who's threatening to spill the studio's dirt to the tabloids. The open-world sandbox game will also incorporate platforming, racing, and puzzle-solving elements, along with a mode that lets Larry step behind the camera to direct his own movies.
