Aussie game charts: February 2-8

Mario Kart Wii knocks Wii Fit from the top to claim glory.

Mario Kart Wii has ousted Wii Fit to claim the top spot of the overall Australian game sales charts, according to data trackers GfK Australia. With every single game in the top 10 chart playable on a Nintendo platform, this latest batch of figures should curb any suspicion that Nintendo and its DS and Wii hardware are mere fads.

Despite dropping out of first, Wii Fit still holds the very respectable second place position for the week of February 2-8. Both Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? and the Guitar Hero World Tour super bundle for the Wii have managed to maintain the exact same positions as the previous week to sit in third and fourth place respectively. Fifth position was occupied by More Brain Training From Dr Kawashima: How Old Is Your Brain? After a no-show in the charts last week, Wii Play is back, claiming the sixth spot overall. 2K's tennis-sim Top Spin 3 continues to sell well and made it to number seven. Meanwhile, Professor Kageyama's Maths Training: The Hundred Cell Calculation Method sits in the eighth spot, while Super Smash Bros. Brawl is just below it in ninth place. The final game to make it into the overall top 10 is Hasbro Family Game Night by EA, at number 10.
