Report: Faith and a .45 on hold
Chili Con Carnage creator Deadline Games said to be unable to find publisher for Bonnie-and-Clyde-inspired shooter, stalling development.
Just over a year ago, Total Overdose and Chili Con Carnage developer Deadline Games unholstered Faith and a .45, the Danish studio's first effort for the current generation of consoles. Unfortunately, it appears as if the action game has hit a jam.
PS3 Attitude reports this week that development on Faith and a .45 has been placed on hold. According to a source within the company, Deadline has been unable to secure a publisher for the game, a situation that has led a number of independent developers in the past 12 months--including Iron Lore, Factor 5, and Free Radical--to fold or make substantial staff cuts. Deadline Games had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment as of press time.
A new intellectual property, Faith and a .45 is a cooperative multiplayer-centric shooter that draws its inspiration from the real-life travails of famed bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde. The game follows Luke and Ruby, a couple of outlaws in love who are crisscrossing the country with guns at the ready. Looking to stop Luke and Ruby's spree will be a nefarious oilman and the oppressive forces at his command.
According to Deadline Games' Web site, the developer still has a number of other titles in development, including a range of family-friendly games based on the Hanna-Barbera license. Deadline is also at work on the Warner Bros. Interactive-published Watchmen film tie-in for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
