Aussie game charts: January 19-25

Wii Fit makes a return to the top of the game charts.

For the first time in 2009, Wii Fit has claimed the throne at the top of the overall Australian game charts, according to data trackers GfK Australia. Last week Nintendo's fitness game was named the best-selling game in Australia for 2008.

Mario Kart Wii has snuck up into the second position, knocking last week's holder--Wii Play--down into the third spot, for the week of January 19-25. Rocking out with the Wii Remote proved to be a popular pastime last week, with Activision's Guitar Hero World Tour super bundle for the Wii taking out fourth place. The Xbox 360 version of Skate 2 has made its Aussie debut in the middle of the top 10, at number five. Meanwhile, its PS3 cousin is a bit lower at number eight. Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? for the DS can be found in sixth place. Rocking out with plastic instruments wasn't exclusive to Wii owners, with the 360 version of Guitar Hero World Tour also making an appearance, coming in at seventh place. Lord of the Rings: Conquest claims the ninth slot, a significant fall from the previous week. The final game to make it into the chart is More Brain Training From Dr Kawashima: How Old Is Your Brain? in at number 10.
