When it launched last year, Don King Presents: Prizefighter on the Xbox 360 received a critical drubbing more befitting a lightweight pretender than a heavyweight contender. Take-Two Interactive is itching for a rematch, and today the publisher announced that Nintendo's platforms would play host to Don King Boxing on the Wii and DS on March 31.

Take-Two entrusted development of the Nintendo installments of the Don King line to 2K China, which is creating the games with the unique interfaces of the Wii and DS in mind. Like in the Wii Sports boxing minigame, players of Don King Boxing on the Wii will be able to mimic throwing punches and blocking with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. The game will also include optional support for the Wii Balance Board for ducking and weaving movements.

Don King Boxing will include more than 20 real-life boxers and a number of famous venues like Madison Square Garden and the Trump Taj Mahal. Additionally, 2K China is including a "boxercise" mode that takes players through boxers' actual training routines. Besides burning a few calories, the boxercise mode will boost a fighter's in-game stats.
