This week's retail-release calendar is devoid of PlayStation 3 games, but Sony fans with Internet access will still be able to get their new-game fix. Sony announced today on its PlayStation Blog that a pair of new playable experiences would be available to online gamers this week.

The Red Bull section of PlayStation Home will go live this week, allowing people in the PS3 online world's open beta program to interact with the energy-drink brand in new ways. For starters, that means exploring Red Bull Island and playing the Red Bull Air Race game. If that's not enough Red Bull, Sony says that it has plans to expand on user options in the future.

This week's PlayStation Network update will also feature at least one new game. Sony confirmed that Creat Studios' puzzler Cuboid will arrive on the PS3's online store tomorrow. Selling for $9.99, Cuboid challenges players to navigate a rectangular block across 66 levels filled with switches and break-away tiles. Creat previously made Coded Arms Contagion and Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Pro-Am for the PSP and PlayStation 2, respectively. However, puzzle games aren't an entirely new subject for the studio, given that last year it produced Midway Games' PSP noodle-scratcher Hot Brain.
