PlayStation Home voice chat silenced
Online world temporarily taken down to address launch issues, voice chat "temporarily disabled."
PlayStation 3 users were temporarily evicted from the Home online service this morning. A Sony representative said on the PlayStation blog that the service was set to go down at midnight for roughly six hours so that developers could address lingering issues from the open beta launch.
The Sony representative cited user problems accessing Home, blaming the problem on "high demand for the service." As part of the maintenance, Sony also "temporarily suspended" the service's voice chat feature. Players can still send text messages to each other or communicate by using the "phone friend" feature.
