Activision warming up Wii sports comp
Football, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and tennis provide basis for 22 different events in Big League Sports collection.
From Wii Sports to Deca Sports, athletic-minded minigame collections have thrived on the Wii, but so far Activision has been noticeably absent from the party. No longer, as the publisher today announced that it will have Big League Sports on store shelves this holiday season.
Big League Sports will feature 22 different events pulled from six different sports: football, tennis, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, and soccer. Up to four players will be able to customize their own athletes and compete in single game, marathon, or tournament modes. Naturally, the events will attempt to mimic the real-world motions of athletes using the Wii Remote.
Big League Sports is being developed by Koolhaus Games. The studio's portfolio is heavy on mobile games, with previous efforts including the cell phone ports of Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved and the Megatouch coin-operated bar-top games.
