Aussie game charts: August 4-August 10

Wii Fit claims the top spot in latest Aussie charts; M.I.A. chart--for July 29-August 3--is also found.

Perhaps the Beijing Games has made people feel guilty about their lack of a fitness routine. Whatever the reason, Wii Fit is back in the gold medal position in Australia's game sales charts, taking out the number one spot for the week of August 4-10, according to data trackers GfK Australia.

The Wii Play Wii Remote bundle was in number two, with Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games on Wii just behind it in third place. Mario Kart Wii was in fourth position, while Super Smash Bros. Brawl was in fifth. The Nintendo DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games didn't do quite as well as its Wii cousin, landing in at sixth spot. Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? took out seventh place, while Namco's famed beat-em up--Soulcalibur IV on the PS3--continues to sell strongly at eighth position. Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV for PS3 has re-entered the charts, returning at number nine. Last but not least is Beijing 2008: The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games in the 10th spot.

While Soulcalibur IV on PS3 managed to make it into the top 10, curiously the Xbox 360 version missed the boat, despite topping the Xbox 360 chart.

Due to the fact that GfK Australia did not publish the top 10 charts for the week of July 29-August 3, we were unable to run the charts last week.
