Shiny, The Collective twisted into Double Helix
Foundation 9 gives its recently combined studio a new name, says team is working on three new licensed multiplatform games.
Consolidation has been big news in gaming recently. But with headlines dominated by Activision's merger with Vivendi Games, Electronic Arts buying BioWare/Pandemic, and that same publisher's attempt to purchase Take-Two Interactive, some other unions have been largely overlooked.
Foundation 9 Entertainment did its part to return the merging of its Shiny and The Collective studios to news pages today as it unveiled the Irvine, California-based outfit's new name, Double Helix. The studio currently has three projects on its plate, all of them multiplatform titles based on licensed properties.
The Double Helix name and logo were both chosen from a variety of employee submissions, which studio head Michael Saxs Persson said should help the developers feel "a certain level of ownership" over the company.

Messiah came out a long time ago... or is that sarcasm hinting at the game being a complete dibacle compared to what it was hyped up to be?

Mdk was developed by shiny as well as Earthworm Jim 1 and 2, Wild 9 for the PS1, and a little game called Enter the Matrix, and Matrix, Path of Neo. Of course there was supposed to be a game called "Messiah" but it never came out.....I really wanted to play it....maybe someday they can get back to it

Shiny... were they the guys who made the first 2 Earthworm Jim games? Other than those, I haven't played any of their games. What titles are they working on now?

Sacrifice 2 would be cool but more then likely they are going to make crappy games like the newer games they put out ("Enter the Matrix" & "The Golden Compass")

Messiah was one of the greatest PC games that never, ever ran smoothly. But Bob was an awesome character. You can't argue with an angry cherub who can take over your body and make you kill yourself. BRING BACK MESSIAH!

Shiny should remake Messiah for next gen systems. The original was too buggy and ruined the potential that game had.

The Collective put out the first Buffy game for xbox. I enjoyed it. Some licensed stuff can be good if they have reasonable deadlines.
