Electronic Arts CFO resigns

Warren Jenson to end six-year stint with publisher after helping close out current fiscal year.

Electronic Arts' top bean counter has announced his resignation at a time when the publisher has more beans to count than ever before. Already in the midst of an attempted $2 billion takeover of Take-Two Interactive, EA today confirmed that chief financial officer Warren Jenson will be leaving the company after a six-year stint.

Jenson's departure is the latest in a series of executive suite changes that have taken place at EA since John Riccitiello took over as CEO 13 months ago. EA has since restructured its business divisions, bringing in Microsoft and Activision executives such as Peter Moore and Kathy Vrabeck to spearhead its efforts. Most recently, the publisher appointed John Pleasants to be its latest COO last week.

EA said it would announce a successor for Jenson shortly, and that Jenson would assist in transitioning that successor into the CFO role. As for Jenson, he didn't indicate what he hoped to do after his employment with EA ends, saying only, "It's time for me to write the next chapter in my career--and I wish EA the best in the dynamic period ahead."
