Grateful Dead arise with Rock Band DLC

"Casey Jones," Sugar Magnolia," and four more set for release on PS3 and Xbox 360 next week individually or as a pack.

Rock Band has been out for about three months now, but there are still two prerelease promises about downloadable content that Harmonix and MTV Games have yet to fulfill. The pair have not released any full albums, nor have they dug up any of the 18 Grateful Dead songs licensed last year.

Unfortunately, there's still no telling when albums like The Who's Who's Next will be available for download. However, a Harmonix developer brought news of the Grateful Dead's impending arrival in the official Rock Band forums today.

Six Grateful Dead songs will be available for download on their own or as a single pack next week. The six songs are "Casey Jones," "Sugar Magnolia," "Truckin'," "China Cat Sunflower," "Franklin's Tower," and "I Need a Miracle." Every song will be a master track, with individual offerings going for $1.99 (160 Microsoft points), and the full six-song pack costing $9.99 (800 Microsoft points).
