Rockstar exec promoted

Earlier this year, Gary Dale was appointed chief operating officer of Rockstar Games after the departure of the studio's cofounder and managing director Terry Donovan. Dale came to the company from his role as European managing director for Capcom, and word arrives today that his stay with Rockstar was a brief one.

Rockstar parent company Take-Two Interactive today announced that Dale has been named the publisher's new executive vice president. In his new role at Take-Two, Dale will focus on optimizing the sales and distribution business, seek new opportunities in emerging genres and markets, and serve as the corporate go-between for the publisher's various labels.

Before his time at Capcom, Dale was president of the interactive software and video division of BMG Entertainment until the company was acquired by Take-Two Interactive in 1998.
