Earlier this year, the holiday release outlook had some contemplating heinous crimes to raise funds enough to keep up with the deluge. Fortunately, a significant number of those high-profile games have been dispersed to 2008, not the least of which being Grand Theft Auto IV, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

EA and Crytek's graphically lauded shooter Crysis appeared to be in danger of a similar fate when a single-player demo for the game was delayed by a full month to October 26. However, such will not be the case, as EA today announced that development has officially wrapped on Crysis, and it will be available for PC gamers on its anticipated release date of November 16.

Crytek hopes to enliven the first-person shooter scene with its open-ended world and tactical approach to choosing which fights to pursue. Crysis also supports online play for up to 32 players. Check out GameSpot's interview with Crytek boss Cevat Yerli to see what kind of rig will be needed to handle the tech-heavy shooter.

PC gamers can pick up Crysis in either its $49.99 standard package or a $59.99 collector's edition. Those looking to splurge will receive a bonus DVD containing "making of" and developer insight footage, as well as a Crysis concept video, production artwork, the official soundtrack, and a 16-page concept art book.
