TimeShift materializes at factory

In Saber Interactive's sci-fi shooter TimeShift, gamers are able to play fast and loose with space-time by rewinding, fast-forwarding, and pausing the clock as they see fit using the so-called Beta Suit. Considering the game's roundabout development cycle, Saber Interactive probably would have enjoyed a real-life Beta Suit of its own.

Initially slated for fall 2005 on the PC and Xbox, the game was pushed to 2007 after Sierra Entertainment acquired the publishing rights from Atari in 2006. In that time, the game underwent numerous platform changes, from unofficially acquiring and later dropping a PlayStation 2 version to swapping the Xbox version for its next-generation counterpart. Earlier this year, Sierra also added a PlayStation 3 version of the game.

Beta Suit or no, Sierra Entertainment has announced that Saber Interactive has wrapped up development on TimeShift, and the game should meet its projected October 30 release date for the Xbox 360 and PC. As noted in August, the PlayStation 3 version is planned to follow sometime in December.

Rated M for Mature, TimeShift will retail for $59.99 on the Xbox 360 and $49.99 on the PC. An Xbox 360 demo is currently available on Xbox Live, and a PC demo can be found on GameSpot. For a full rundown on what to expect come October 30, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
