The London Games Festival--taking place from October 22 to 26--has gained a heavyweight speaker at its event. Margaret Hodge MP for Barking and Minister for Culture, Media, and Sport, will be attending the European Leisure Software Publishers Association annual general meeting, which will take place at The Royal Society of Medicine on October 22.

Anyone can attend the meeting, although voting is only allowed to full ELSPA members. Before the AGM, the trade association will host a members forum to discuss such issues as the rise of negative publicity surrounding the games industry and what can be done.

It is expected that Hodge will use her floor time to outline the government's position in relation to the video game industry and will be followed by a question and answer session.

Other London Games Festival events confirmed so far include a Video Games Live concert, the BAFTA awards, the London Game Career Fair, and a London Gamers Geek Quiz.
