Las Vegas-based developer Petroglyph is known for its work on real-time strategy games, having created Star Wars: Empire at War and its expansion for LucasArts, and the upcoming Universe at War: Earth Assault for Sega. The studio even boasts a development team rich in experience with the genre, with credits on RTS games from the Command & Conquer series to Civilization III and Dune II: The Building of a Dynasty.

However, it appears as if Petroglyph is looking for a change of pace, as Firing Squad today spotted a job posting by the studio looking for a proven designer of massively multiplayer online games.

According to the job listing, "The MMO Game Designer is responsible for understanding, refining, maintaining, and disseminating the game design vision, game design, mission building, gameplay balancing, and game proposal development of a massive multiplayer online game."

Petroglyph is looking for applicants with three years of experience in the field and at least one completed and shipped MMO game to their credit. The ideal candidate must also be "an avid gamer with strong interest in pushing the industry forward creatively."
