GRAW 2 finds gold on PS3, PSP

Ubisoft's modern-day tactical shooter locked in for August 21 release on Sony's systems.

When Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 was officially unveiled last December, Ubisoft initially slated all four versions of the game--PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Portable--for a spring 2007 release date. However, the only version to technically fall in that window was the GRIN-developed PC version, which landed a scant four days before the summer solstice. The Xbox 360 version jumped the gun on the spring equinox by two weeks.

Though only the PlayStation 3 version was officially delayed during Ubisoft's third-quarter financial reporting in January, both games slated to appear on Sony's systems slipped to the France-based publisher's 2008 fiscal year. However, Ubisoft announced today that the PS3 and PSP version have gone gold and are now locked and loaded for their anticipated August 21 street date.

Both developed by Red Storm Entertainment, the PS3 version of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 retails for $59.99, while the PSP version costs $39.99. The game is rated T for Teen. For more, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

    Wow I got this when it came out, it's awesome. I don't care if im ranting in favor of the game when these Xbox veterans have been blessed by this earlier. It did seem short to play but in all actuality did have some length to it. Online play is good too, just wish gaining rank unlocked things.

    Graw 2 will easily do well on Ps3,but like with all Tom Clancy games it will flop on the PSP

    I have played the ps3 demo of the game and it is great, I am still decidding weather to get this for the 360 or ps3. I will probably get it for the ps3 despite the extra cost as online play is free and the graphics look better. I still have the ps3 demo and it was great! good graphics, great fights I think that this will be better than the last game in the seriies.

    I will not get the psp version. RS for the psp was not great and I doubt this will be any better.

    Awesome. Believe it or not, the PS3 version of GRAW2 is enough to convince me to get a PS3...besides MGS4.

    I've played the 360 version, and the demo on the PS3. Lets just say that the PS3 version is a lot better, a lot better, a lot better. Oh and it actually worked on the PS3. BOOOYA!!!

    And thats completly correct Canitbe idk i just want to play great games and i don't care about what console its on..but 360 and Ps3 great consoles both.. and the wii is inovative...theres no way to stop it Fanboys will do what they want and brag about there one console they worship

    That's amusing, there have been console wars since you were just a sparkle in your daddy's eye.

    Intellevision vs. Atari
    Commodore 64 vs. IBM
    Master System vs. Nintendo
    Super Nintendo vs. Atari Jaguar vs. Sega Genesis(32x,cd player, bleh blah)

    As you can see, people have argued for their respective systems for a long time, just for the sake of having something to argue about.

    Forget the PS3 demo. I found some PS3 new screen shots about this game somewhere and they have better color than the demo. I'm sure the demo is a work-in-progress game. My PSP R button broke and I don't think I will buy PSP version until I buy a new PSP...

    Sydwynder if 360 is soo good and we should all get it... why do they constantly break? why is microsoft making a completely new machine? no problem then we can stick with our 425 pound console while you have to go out and buuy a new one... that copied almost everything ps3 had and still missed out on some key things like a built-in wi-fi... + on ps3 you get a free extra controller and two games (UK)

    Didn't buy it since it was pretty much a GRAW expansion pack for full price on 360. Oh well PS3 owners get a 6 month old expansion pack port and we get Bioshock this week. Yeah, if you don't own a 360, what the heck are you thinking?

    PSP shooters rarely live up to there big brothers, but the PS3 version can't get here soon enough.

    I hope this game is different enough from the 360 version to get a stand alone rating. I am glad to see its not another lazy port

    I have to say that I would still get the 360 version over this version. Because it seems to me that the 360 is getting more developer support over the PS3.

    Its got to be said,i prefer the 360 version to the ps3 demo.It seemed to have a lower frame rate on the ps3 and the graphics were not as sharp. B.t.w. im not a fanboy,i have both consoles

    NeoNavarro I have had a psp headset ever scince socom for the psp, and it works with all psp games with headset capabilites. I use it for socom 2 and it will work for ghost recon.

    GRAW 2 should be on part with R6V, a great game that's just a bit better on the 360, but none the less a great PS3 game. As for the PSP version, let's hope it's better then R6V on the PSP, which was awful.

    Here's a question how are you going to play a online multi-player tactical first person shooter with out voice capabilities and a head set? It sounds pretty damn hard to me.

    Shmoe; it's never going to end. Regardless, I feel that GRAW2 on the PSP will be quite crippled due to the lack of two analog sticks.

    Awesome game getting the reputation and awards it deserves. Why do people have to come on here and bad mouth eachother systems? Are these people who badmouth the PS3 or Xbox360 trying to justify their purchase? Seriously people, be happy with what you bought and leave others peoples systems alone or are you are truly that insecure with your purchase because its getting old hearing the fanboys fight.
