Dynasty Warriors 6 spinning onto 360
The latest installment in Koei's fighting game franchise has been confirmed for the Xbox 360--not just the PS3, as previously thought.
Yokohama-based game publisher Koei will be releasing its latest Dynasty Warriors offering on both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 consoles. An update on Koei's Japanese Web site shows a video trailer for the Dynasty Warriors 6 game--called Shin Sangoku Musou 5 in Japan--with logos for both consoles.
The title, due out this autumn in Japan, is yet to be announced for the rest of the world, although it's a fairly safe bet that that announcement will be forthcoming--since the series' conception a barrage of previous Dynasty Warriors titles and spin-offs have already crossed the Pacific.
The new game is developed by Omega Force--the studio responsible for all the previous main Dynasty Warriors titles--and the video shows the player-controlled character doing things such as swimming and climbing, as well as leaping from boat to boat in a sea-based battle.
The first Dynasty Warriors game was released in 1997 for the PlayStation, and the game series has proved a roaring success for Koei. Since then, a number of sequels have followed, along with ports to various other formats, and spin-offs such as Dynasty Warriors: Xtreme Legends games and Dynasty Warriors Mahjong.
GameSpot will bring you more details of this title when they become available.
