SAN DIEGO--While almost any video game on hand in playable form at the 2007 San Diego Comic-Con is bound to get be popular, there aren't too many games for which people will queue up to play. One of the exceptions is SingStar Pop for the PlayStation 2, one of 20 games on hand at SCEA's Comic-Con booth. During practically every pass of the SCEA booth, there seemed to be a crowd of folks waiting to play the popular karaoke game, trying their hands (or voices, as the case may be) at songs like Avril Lavigne's "Sk8er Boi" or 3 Doors Down's "Kryptonite."

While little was new at the Sony booth, there were strong showings of games on the PlayStation Portable, including Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow, Parappa the Rapper, and the upcoming strategy title Jeanne D'Arc. In addition, on Thursday the booth hosted Kari Wahlgren, the voice of Jeanne in the game, for an autograph session. On Friday, the booth held a special SOCOM-themed event, where fans could select from various replica weapons and have their photos taken in front of a green-screen image from the game.

On the PlayStation 3 front, Sony brought along upcoming games like Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Folkore, Heavenly Sword, The Eye of Judgment, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortunes, as well as a compilation of PlayStation Network games including Flow, Calling All Cars, Super Rub a Dub, Super Stardust HD, and Blast Factor.

Rounding out the Sony slate of games was its PS2 lineup, which included Hot Shots Tennis, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Buzz!: The Mega Quiz, God of War II, and that other SingStar game, the upcoming '80s-tastic SingStar Amped.
