Last April, Sony's semiofficial blog Three Speech reported that the megapublisher was prepping a number of its upcoming high-profile titles for release in September, including Heavenly Sword, Lair, Killzone 2, Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, and Warhawk. That report later turned out to be unfounded, as Sony Computer Entertainment America corrected Three Speech's announcement, saying that the only officially announced date of the lot was for Lair, which would arrive in July.

Requiring an amendment of its own, SCEA's projected date turned out to be not quite accurate either. During this year's E3 Media and Business Summit, Factor 5 surreptitiously slipped Lair's release date back a month to August.

However, earlier this week, through SCEA's officially official PlayStation.blog, associate producer Ryan Hamlyn revealed that Lair had gone gold and was on track to hit its newly projected August 14 ship date in North America. Hamlyn also stated that the team is currently working on localization for Europe, Japan, Korea, and other territories, and plans for the game to launch across the globe "very soon."

Lair is available exclusively for the PlayStation 3. The dragon-dueling actioner is rated T for Teen, and will retail for $59.99. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
