It has been known for a while that the God of War franchise would be heading to the PlayStation Portable, but fans of the series have been pretty much kept in the dark about details. God of War producer Cory Barlog told GameSpot that Kratos' portable adventure would be an entirely new game, and not a rehash of an existing console God of War title, but that's about all that has been said about it.

Information may still be scant on God of War for the PSP, but at least gamers know what to call it now. Sony has unveiled the official Web site for God of War: Chains of Olympus. According to the game's product listing on the PlayStation site, Chains of Olympus will be released this fall.

For gamers hoping to get some more information on the title from the Web site, there's good news and there's bad news. The bad news is the site is still under construction and there are no screenshots, videos, or details on story and gameplay.

As for the good news, Sony is offering up a free demo of the game through the site. Those with a valid PlayStation Underground account who sign up for the demo will receive a UMD in the mail, while supplies last. Sony does not mention when the demos will be sent out or what will be featured in it.
