Myst Online goes live tomorrow

GameTap confirms release date for once-canceled massively multiplayer version of Uru: Ages of Myst.

The last time a publisher tried integrating a massively multiplayer component into Cyan Worlds' PC puzzle franchise Myst, the project never saw the light of day, being canceled while the game was still in beta testing. Last year, downloadable game subscription service GameTap announced that it was going to bring the project back and publish it on its own. It appears as if this time the game's actually going to make it to market, as GameTap today confirmed that Myst Online: Uru Live will go live on its service tomorrow, February 15.

Myst Online: Uru Live will be available to GameTap subscribers in the US and Canada, but the company has said it will also make it available as a direct download in more countries around the world. A Mac version is also in the works for release later this spring. For more on the game and what Cyan Worlds is going to do now that it's finally seeing release, check out GameSpot News' quick chat with Cyan Worlds founder Rand Miller at last week's D.I.C.E. Summit in Las Vegas.
