Ubisoft confirms PS3 Double Agent

Sam Fisher sneaks onto Sony's next-gen system in Europe and North America next March.

For a guy who makes his living (and stays alive) by keeping to the shadows, Sam Fisher keeps a suspiciously high profile. His latest outing, Splinter Cell Double Agent, has already appeared on the Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, and Wii. He's not even done yet. Today Ubisoft confirmed that Double Agent will arrive on the PlayStation 3 in North America and Europe sometime in March of 2007.

When it arrives, the game will include special features developed specifically for the PS3, including support for the system's motion-sensing Sixaxis controller, as well as new multiplayer maps and skins. Previous versions of Splinter Cell Double Agent have been rated M for Mature. Ubisoft did not announce pricing details on the game.     Drewt yep I am a sony fan also but i have played GOW and it donesn't suck but i hav to admit the multiplayer does need work aint really that fun.

    since i still havent played it
    i did play the ps2 version
    and it came to my understanding that they are very different
    from eachother
    *except from better graphs n stuff

    but really... i waitin for mgs4

    what in the hell does that have to do with nething???? and actually gears of war is a kickass game i own and have beaten and i agree its too short, but thats what harcore and insane is for... and multiplayer doesnt suck, its awesome.... dont agree with me?? why dont you check the game of the year award.. guess who one? thats right, gears of war

    I hope that one of the features they add to this game will be subtitles. I would repurchase the game just for that. Most games these days have them, but there are still a few companies that don't think they are necessary-Ubisoft being among them. They seem to cut them out to save a few bucks...and leave hearing-impaired gamers like me in the cold. None of the Tom Clancy games have subtitles. I could nott play GRAW because of that-the game itself seemed fun, but I couldn't figure ANYTHING out because they did not subtitle one word. The first three Splinter Cells at least had in-mission subtitles so one could figure out what's going on, but they took even those out for Double Agent. The Splinter Cell games are still fun, and I will probably continue buying them and playing them (barring a sudden decrease in their quality), but I'll still be in the dark regarding the plot, characters, and, occasionally, even how to achieve a mission objective. I have tried to contact Ubisoft on the matter, but they seem to purposely make themselves impossible to reach. So it seems my only hope is to whine and moan on internet forums until I get my way

    according to me its too late
    cause i dont think people will buy SCA on the PS3 as most have alreayd played it either on the 360 or the pc

    i think they need to defenitly go back to chaos theory and rethink their multiplayer game again cause they managed to take it from great heights where it was to the pitifull thing that it is now oh well.

    Just like Virtua Fighter 5 was an exclusive? Please. Splinter Cell 5 will be on the PS3, it just might have to wait a few short months after the 360 version. The bad news is that it will probably be just a quick and dirty 360 port like what EA, Activision and Ubisoft specialize in.

    ummm... what predicament will they place on Sam Fisher now?... i see a movie in the future for Splinter Cell.

    Sam Fisher is a stupid character.

    Solid Snake however.

    No just port him like we did on the oringinal Xbox and were golden.

    I don't like how all companies-well most- are trying to incorporate the sixaxis motion control into everything, but as long as its optional I'm fine. Working out+gaming to me just isn't gaming. I'm not fat am as thin as F**K. I don't need a workout when i game .

    this is just gonna show everbody how bad the ps3 is, just like da for ps2, here play co-op on xbox, noice the door on the first few levels, and how everything is not needed for communication

    then try ps2, u end up with all these stupid "bum" synchronized axtion, like hell you have to re-activate fuse boxes at the same time in real life, and then notice how in iceland when you pass the first enemy, he's a prsioner, there is no door, and who the hell make just a big box?

    hands down this is gonna show how much better the 360 is compared to the ps3

    Hopefully the price will not be higher than that for the PS2. This "next gen" excuse for the 60 buck game is really hurting the market. Where is it written that next gen is worth a 20percent increase in a games price. Too high!!!! other than that, I am really looking forward to seeing games take advantage of the PS3 powerfull system unit and its capabilities. Where is all those curtains moving, water flowing etc???

    No SC5 will be on 360 and PC.

    Uhh...you do realize Double Agent is on the 360, Wii, PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, and PC, right? I believe Ubisoft said that Splinter Cell 5 will be the 360 exclusive, not this one.

    Satonyoka i wouldn't be so sure if i were u. mgs4 might come to the 360. After all virtua fighter was supposed to be ps3 exclusive and they broke my heart a week ago saying it was comming to the 360. I'm pretty pissed at sony for losing most of their exclusives, but i'm not gonna give up on them now. I'm still gonna buy a ps3 by march and if i'm happy with it for the next 6 years(pretty good chance) i will never doubt sony again.

    Double Agent is a good game - I hope the PS3 owners enjoy and that they try to keep all the great multiplayer action found on the 360 version.
