Pokemon Diamond, Pearl get domestic date

The latest adventure starring Pikachu and crew is set to arrive in the US April 22; Pokemon-themed styluses to be offered as preorder bonus.

Compulsive collectors of all things Pokemon can clear up their calendars, as Nintendo has announced the North American release date for the series' new DS role-playing games. On April 22, addicted Poke-addicts will be able to once again embark on a quest to "catch 'em all" in Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl.

Although it takes place in the new land of Sinnoh and features new monsters to tame like Munchlax and Weavile, some of the old standbys will still be present. Players can even import Pokemon from Game Boy Advance versions of the series by plugging the GBA cartridge into the DS's GBA port.

While the game has already proven to be a strong seller in Japan, Nintendo is looking to boost its fate domestically with a preorder bonus. Those who reserve their copies at participating retailers will receive a stylus featuring a Pokemon from the new games.

Both games are rated E for Everyone.

    If you are so interested in all the details about Diamond & Pearl - why don't you go to http://www.serebii.net/diamondpearl/ - and get all your questions answered! I'm playing the Japanese versions of the games and they are GREAT! I even have both Dialga and Palkia in my team since I got Dialga from my son who didn't use it - via the great trading function with great animations of the Pokémon flying to the sky from one DS to the other. These games are so great and you have so many exciting things to do, they will keep you playing until the next Pokémon RPG is out.

    I'm pretty dang excited! I can't wait to make kids cry with the new wi-fi features. Plus, you can't have too many styli. InTheZoneAC I have every single pokemon cart for generations 1-3. I'm still playing R/S/e and fr/lg on my DS now. And yes, I'm in my 30s.

    Sweet! I'm gonna get me Diamond. And good thing you can place the old GBA cartrige on the DS for the other Pokemon extractions - I can't live without my Lvl 102 Arcanine. [I didn't cheat if ur wondering.]

    Considering theres no voice acting and the ds is region free, i don't see whats taking nintendo so long to get this out in america. Translation shouldn't take more than a month. The standard nintendo i guess.

    just curious how old you guys are that are waiting for this to come out and have played all the old pokemon games.

    I liked yellow/blue/silver, but didn't attempt to play any of the gba versions, they looked gay

    These games look and sound a lot like Gold and Silver, and whatever anybody might say, those two were the best games in the series. I just hope these are more like G/S and less like Ru/Sa/Em.

    Everyone knows that diamond is going to sell more then pearl because....ppl always went for the cool looking monsters like red/gold/ fire red/ ruby etc...

    I hope they make it more challenging, at maybe attempt a story, just so many improvements they could make. just hope that the critters are as cool as the ones from red/blue/gold/silver, the newer ones kinda suck imo.

    I heard from Wikepedia that you can use the national pokedex from fire red and leaf green to upload pokemon, now i wont have to deal with having those new hallucinatory pokemon, and transfer that level 100 Eevee i have, and eventually send it to the Wii!!
