In the US gaming business, Redwood City, California, is known primarily as the home to Electronic Arts, the world's largest game publisher. Abroad, the company's international headquarters have long called Chertsey, a town in Surrey, England, home.

Today, however, EA's international operations now have a new address. After first announcing the move more than a year ago, the company formally opened up its new European headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The Geneva offices will be in charge of looking over sales and marketing in the European, Asian, African, and Latin American markets.

"When Electronic Arts started its European business in the early 1990s, the natural choice was to go to Britain for language reasons. As the company has grown, it makes sense to be closer to the heart of Europe and be at a more neutral location," European spokeswoman Tiffany Steckler told Reuters.

The new offices will accommodate approximately 90 employees. Game development will continue at the Chertsey studio.
