It seems Electronic Arts likes its hockey game soundtracks the same way it likes its ice--hard. The company released the list of bands and songs featured on its upcoming NHL 07 today, and they mostly run the somewhat narrow gamut from hard rock to punk.

Much more diverse than the intensity of the music is where the artists come from. Reflecting the global makeup of the sport, EA included a few bands from hockey hotbeds around the world. Joining Finland's Bloodpit and Sweden's Hellacopters will be representatives from Buffalo, New York (Cute Is What We Aim For), Minneapolis, Minnesota (Quietdrive), and, of course, a few Canadian acts for good measure (Toronto's Pilate, as well as Priestess and Mobile, both hailing from Montreal).

NHL 07 is scheduled for a September release on the Xbox 360, Xbox, PlayStation 2, PC, and PlayStation Portable. The game's full track listing, the longest yet for an EA hockey game, is listed below.
