Hitman's killing spree to start in May

Agent 47's Blood Money will be earned late next month in Eidos' action game on Xbox 360, Xbox, PlayStation 2, and PC.

They say that when you realize Hitman's antihero Agent 47 is after you, it's already too late. Thankfully, Eidos' heads-up of the bald assassin's coming to the PlayStation 2, Xbox, PC, and the Xbox 360 doesn't mean piano wire around gamers' necks. The latest installation of Io Interactive's Hitman series, Hitman: Blood Money, begins a new set of contractual killings on May 30 in the US, Eidos announced today. As with UK-based Eidos' other recent release, Tomb Raider: Legend, the game will be released four days earlier in Europe.

In the game, things go awry for Agent 47 as fellow members of his agency are picked off, one by one. Believing he's next on the list, 47 heads to America and begins hunting down members of a rival agency, who he believes picked off his coworkers.

This is the fourth game in the Hitman series, following Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and Hitman: Contracts. All four games have been under the Eidos banner and developed by Copenhagen-based Io Interactive, developer of 2003's Freedom Fighters. In March 2004, Eidos acquired Io, and less than a year before it was itself bought by SCi Entertainment.

Hitman: Blood Money is rated M for Mature, and will retail for $39.99 on the PC, $59.99 on the Xbox 360, and $49.99 on current-gen consoles. For more information on the game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

Sounds great but not $10 dollars more great for the Xbox 360. Sorry but I'm tired of being ripped off for a better looking version of the same game that isn't really next gen. Guys start speaking up or you will keep getting ripped off. It's funny but by now I would have owned every good game that was out there for my new system but a number of them aren't worth the extra $10 bucks. I own hundreds of game for each of one my console from every generation and the money has never bothered me if I knew the game was original but that's not the case right now. We're looking at conversions of conversions and prettier isn't enough any more. $49.99 is reasonable for multi system/platform (Computer) games. Elderscroll Oblivion was worth $59.99 and some of the games coming up later this year are but the majority of the 360 games have not been. If the industry doesn't get smarter soon there will more than likely be a bigger drop in videogame sells than the one we are seeing now. Both MS and Nintendo have realized this going into the next gen and have said that their 1st party game prices may change from game to game. I can take that if the game is exclusive or is coming out on the PC and a console only but not all platforms. The game looks great but when I look at it versus OBLIVION, Huxley, Gears of war, or Too Human there is no debate on where my cash will go. If I had to buy all 4 of those games together at once then my extra $40 would be there.

Wasn't this one of the most objectionable games of 2004 according to some parents' group with their heads up their butts?

Way to go, guys. The only reason I objected to it in 2004 is because I wouldn't get to play it for another year and a half.

I'm so buying this game. I love Hitman and haven't played it for awhile. I hated Contracts that game was WAY to hard and now that people don't have ESP it should make it better.

why would I buy it for the 360 when the PC version is $20 cheaper?

unless I missed something I don't picture them spending extra time to make the 360 version $20 more impressive then the PC version when they could just edit a few files and port it to the 360 and get the same results.
