Crave deals next-gen poker

World Championship Poker goes "All In" with Xbox 360, PS2, and PSP versions; new title features mixed games, 18 types of poker.

One of the keys to poker is being able to get a read on your opponent. By carefully studying visual cues made by rival gamblers, pros can get a bead on their opposition's hands, making that decision to call or fold much easier. Soon, gamers may be able to look into the dilating pupils of some next-generation digital-card players to decide whether it's worth risking some fake money.

Crave Entertainment is dealing its World Championship Poker series a third hand. The publisher has announced that World Championship Poker: Featuring Howard Lederer "All In" is currently being developed for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable but has not yet revealed a release date.

All In will feature 18 different types of poker, including Omaha, Texas Hold 'Em, and Five Card Stud. The game's single-player campaign mode now features series tournaments, mixed games (multiple variations of poker in one sitting), and reoccurring home games. There will also be scenario challenges, to quiz players' poker knowledge; lucky charms; and a roster of new pros.

Crave has not released any pricing or rating information on World Championship Poker: All In. For information on Crave's last poker game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

"Why pay $50 to play for fake money against a lame computer simulation when you can play online for fake money for free at any of the bazillion poker websites?"

Because you get a bazillion pieces of spam from visiting and playing on those bazillion poker websites.

Do we honestly need any poker videogames when you can already play online or, better yet, actually round up some of your closest pals to your own table? This will be only for people who don't have a life outside their room, and I don't know any such people.

Wow, those amazing Xbox 360 graphics will be put to the test to grind out those high detail textures of a goddamn poker chip.

I can play poker, for free, on some crappy windows 95 PC, yet people will go out to buy/rent the same style of game for next generation systems? Are you nuts?

I bet this would be interesting and rather good, when played online with the Xbox 360. I have been hoping for a poker game to come along for it.

I really don't know what to think about this. Poker is better played with Real people and you have the chance to win Real Money too. I can't see poker on a next gen console. I love the game of poker, just not as a video game.

Agreed... real poker will always trump online poker will always trump poker against a computer simulation... Go all in for a $20 game and get a hunk of crap back... And it's not very 'next gen' if it's 360, PS2, and PSP.... but that's just me...

Who in their right mind would buy this? Texas Hold 'Em is going to be available on Live Arcade soon for like, 5 bucks. Why would you pay 60??

Why pay $50 to play for fake money against a lame computer simulation when you can play online for fake money for free at any of the bazillion poker websites? How anyone would buy any poker games baffles me... And playing real-live humans in person - like I do every Thursday with my poker buddies - is an even better option!

Honestly, Poker is the most boring thing on the planet, without booze and especially without real money. So this is like freaking useless.

Hopefully they can make a good game on the 360, all the rest have been so lame, stacked for the Xbox is good, but the rest suck! I would rather play old school poker games with no graphics.

I am more of a fan of playing with real people.THis would be a sweet card game for PS3 if you can use the Eye Toy and use it to play against real players you could get to look at them and see if they really have what they say they have.It would be neat to play games like that with your friends over the Internet. It would be sweet if there where more then just poker like a library of card games you can play with your friends.

I hope they redo the whole game..the last one sucked A$$ compared to the first one....I would actually like to see a good ESPN World series of Poker Game w/ Norm Chad doing play-by-play or a good WPT game.
