Capcom preps UMD movies

Street Fighter anime series, movie headed to PSP players in second quarter of 2006.

Mere weeks after the release of Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max on the PSP, Capcom has announced it's taking Sony's handheld to the streets again. Beginning in the second quarter of 2006, the company will make all 29 episodes of the Street Fighter II V animated series available on UMD, starting with Street Fighter II V, Volume 1-5, which will retail for $19.99. Release dates for the five other UMDs that will complete the series have not yet been announced. The company is also preparing a UMD of Street Fighter Alpha: The Movie, the sequel to the series, for release in the second quarter. It too will retail for $19.99.

In my opinion Street fighter was a decent anime .I seen alot of anime AND OWNED A LOT also ,I've seen the whole series so I KNOW WHAT i'm talking about Just give it a chance ,And I don't think the Psp is dying it didn't even hit it one year anniversary so you should just wait and see you'll never know what sony might do .To B-Bad I will also loved to have Rival school.I really missed playing that game and I really wish they make it .

While the SF 2v series wasn the best anime around it was cool, I also liked SFA movie, Street Fighter 2 Movie, an Generation was cool but too short, it's cool to see Capcom putting these animes on umd but I really would Love to see them bring Rival Schools series to the PSP.

finally more umd anime, it is the only umd i really care about. Now if only capcom would actually release games on a real handheld gaming system. If a game company is releasing umd movies on the psp then they know that it is really only good for that nowadays.

What OdinDragoon said. Hooray for horrible anime on a sucky, proprietary format. This'll make me run right out and buy a PSP.

$19.99 for anime that you will probably watch once or twice,Capcom should focus on games for the PSP.

I never saw the series, but I'm still kinda interested. The Street Fighter movies weren't particularly outstanding, but SFII had good fanservice and Alpha had some nice animation. On paper, Generations seemed like a good idea to have Ryu go against Gouki, but the movie was too short for good development.

    Street Fighter 2 is terrible

I don't understand how anyone can say it's good if they've watched any actual GOOD anime series. Street Fighter 2 anime is TRASH.

Street fighter 2 v was probably one of my favorite animes. Thing is i already own the series on dvd so whats the point on buying it on umd? See this is why many people dont buy umds is because they dont need them.

Capcom does want the Mega Man anime on the PSP B1ACK_MAGE but they don't have the time. And Skelitor I think they'll put Alpha 2 on the PSP trust me or we will all fall to our knees begging to Capcom. I have faith on Capcom because they're my favorite maker of games but trust me guys trust me.Another thing TargetDog the Street Fighter 2 anime is a great program.Still it was a bad thing that the Street Fighter 2 anime was canned at its time

i wonder if they will put the Alpha 2 on the psp as well. Loved the second better than the first. The last movie was a disappointement. Lets hope something like that doesn't happen again. Nice back story though.

Rofl, Capcom is still trying to give the PSP support when they know that it's screwed in Japan.

Street Fighter II anime is terrible by the way. I personally know, I watched one episode and almost vomited on myself.
