MotorStorm launching with PS3?

Evolution's dirt-flinging combat racer may take pole position as a launch title for the PlayStation 3.

The PS3 Killzone clip may have been the most talked-about tech demo at the Sony pre-E3 press conference, but one trailer wasn't far behind. The teaser for MotorStorm, from Evolution Studios, showed all types of vehicles racing against photorealistic backgrounds and climaxed with a tumbling buggy headed straight for an unsuspecting motorbike rider.

As great of a cliffhanger as the trailer was, the question on everyone's mind was, "When can I play it?" As gamers know, just because a trailer is done doesn't mean that the game is anywhere close to completion.

Off-roading carnage abounds in this trailer from Sony's E3 press conference.

MotorStorm, however, may speed out of the gates alongside the PlayStation 3. On Evolution Studios' Web site, the company says that it is working on "a 'next-gen' PS3 launch title called MotorStorm" (emphasis added).

So, can gamers expect to trade paint and bend fenders when the PS3 finally comes out? Sony representatives would not comment on the subject, issuing what is fast becoming their answer to "Microsoft does not comment on rumors or speculation." "There has been no official announcement on launch software titles for PlayStation 3," said a Sony rep.

Release dates for the PlayStation 3 launch titles (as well as the console itself) remain largely up in the air, and only a handful of games are currently scheduled for release this year.

    ye sure why not? Might as well rent it or play the demo at some store. I cant afford a $900 system with $80 games. Sorry.

    it wont look ne where near as good as the trailer and neather will all the other ps3 games there all pre rendered and thay will all look **** when thay come out xbox 360 is way better ps3 will b **** just like ps2 was!!

    I'm gonna laugh so hard when the PS3 comes out and is priced somewhere around $600 and isn't even as good as the 360. That would be funny, but it won't happen. I'm sure the PS3 will blow away every rich kid that can afford one. Anybody that doesn't realize that the PS3 could cost you over $1000 if you want one in the first 3 or 4 months should be slapped. Anyway Ebay sellers will love it, you will hate it, and I will laugh. mwahahahaha just like bowser man. Another thing 7 people to one tv? what were they thinking? who here owns a High Def. projector honestly? Oh I will probably want one, but I'll stick with my not quite next-gen as some might say 360 until the price drops somewhere around what the PS2 is now so in like 15 years I'll have one so there.

    i think the game developpers should take they're time on the next gen games, i mean we are talking about 35 times more power than current gen, and its not that easy, so even if we are eager to play them, i would prefer waiting a bit longer for a very good game than putting the controler in my hands asap with a terrible next gen first experience.

    FACT ! the amazing demo shown of this game at E3 was made by a firm who spiecializes in CGI in liverpoool England who have nothing to do with the games production! GET REAL PEOPLE ! the game will look nothing what so ever like the E3 trailer

    good good!....this is the one game i am realy excited to see cos xbox 360 has all of the others i wanted to see on ps3.....hopefully this will push the ps3 to its limits to really show off and get people away from that darn mishapen peice of junk!

    go to www.control-freaks.tv, on the right side menu thing, scroll down about half way, there is a motor storm on ps3 video where a developer himself says...

    "the game logic and AI were disabled for the video......what you saw was the ps3"

    Im not one for racing games but i have to admit that that game seemed pretty cool. As far as launch goes, who knows when it will, i just hope its its year.

    The PS3 hype is kinda dieing i agree, i still want one but we need some new news or something please. I'm just afraid that we won't hear anything about it until E3 which is prolly very likely. Come on Sony give us something!

    This makes me crave some Rallisport 2 action, original Xbox style. Of course, one can pray that MS has got Rallisport 3 being crafted somewhere right now and if it looks even close to that MotorStorm FMV then I will be a very happy camper.
