DOA4, new Zelda playable at G.A.M.E.

Next-gen fighter, highly anticipated Nintendo sequel join list of games at convention melding music and games.

If the previous list of playable games that will be displayed at this weekend's G.A.M.E. (Games and Music Experience) event wasn't enticing enough, the two heavyweight additions announced today should tip the scales. Tecmo's Dead or Alive 4 for the Xbox 360 and Nintendo's...wait for it...The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the GameCube will both be playable to the public beginning today.

DOA4 is the first next-generation fighting game and won't be in stores for a few weeks (its release date is still in flux). The franchise is well known for its flagrantly feminine femme fatales, who deftly beat on each other and look good doing it.

The latest in one of gaming's most popular franchises will also set up shop at G.A.M.E. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, easily one of the most anticipated games of 2006, is making a rare public appearance at the event. This new Zelda adventure, not scheduled for release until April 2006 at the earliest, features an older Link and a darker presentation and storyline.

Other playable titles at G.A.M.E. not yet in stores include Star Wars: Empire at War for the PC, Pursuit Force for the PSP, Animal Crossing: Wild World for the DS, and Yoot Saito's Odama for the GameCube.

G.A.M.E. is open to the public and runs through the weekend at San Francisco's Moscone Center. The event celebrates music and gaming, and will feature top musical acts such as Hieroglyphics and Meat Beat Manifesto performing live, as well as several game kiosks with the best games of 2005, highly anticipated upcoming titles, and some retro classics. Oh, and Flavor Flav will be there.

Fanboys and fangirls of all sects will have something to tout, as G.A.M.E. will showcase the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, DS, PSP, PC, and Game Boy Advance. Consider yourself old-school? The Sega Genesis, NeoGeo, Atari 2600, and other classic consoles will be dusted off for some pixilated pleasure. For tickets and more information on G.A.M.E., head over to the official Web site.

    Ok,

I owned an XBOX, till I beat Halo and Halo 2. The games had nice graphics and all, but hey what else? Now don't get me wrong I am not a MS hater or anything, however when you talk to a big XBOX fan all you hear about is Halo this and Halo that, yada yada yada. All the big titles, i.e. (Clancy line, Comic book titles, major movie, and Call of duty etc.) all come out for the three systems.

You know for the MS fans to say Zelda for Xbox, and the sony cats saying Zelda for PS, well gee I say release Halo for the game cube and sony release smackdown for the game cube. Get over it, each platform has title and character specific kind of content.

I own a PS 2 and a Game Cube. I like both systems. Like I said I used to own an XBOX. After the two Halo's there weren't enough MS only titles to hold my attention.

I am so tired of seeing all this console bashing for no reason.

nintendo gamecube is the best console of its generation simply because it is more accessible than the x-box or ps2, thus making it a LOT more fun!

Whoever thinks that a gamecube sucks, are losers. Ok yes, gamecube doesn't have a DVD player like the PS2, Xbox and the Xbox 360 but still people who have a gamecube should not sell it.It doesn't have Halo or GTA, but still... I think Nintendo are going to create a lot of good games. Nintendo's big franchises are Mario,Zelda and possibly D.K(more for a child then a teenager/adult). But besides the point Nintendo has really great MULTIPLAYER games. That's what i like about Nintendo. So don't sell the gamecube just yet look forward for great games and invite friends to play too.

Right so what all the Xbox and Sony fanboys in this thread said is they wish they had a Nintendo console so they could play this game and because they don't they're just going to crap on Nintendo for releasing this game exclusively on there console. If you want to play the best games which are Nintendo games then you have to buy a Nintendo console. It's simple, now quit your whining and get a gamecube or Rev for this game if you want to play it that bad. It's going to be the cheapest and most revolutionary next gen console anyway.

If I lived anywhere close to S.F., I would have gone. But I'm all the way over on the east coast. No way I was making that trip.

I've stated this before and I'll say it again. Nintendo needs to get out of the console market and become a third party game publisher/developer. The GameCube's failure was mostly Nintendo's fault for not having enough buttons on the controller and for not supporting online play. They may try to correct these problems with the Rev, but it's too little, too late. Zelda: Twilight Princess will most likely be the last Nintendo product I buy for a long time, due to the fact that I will only have a PS3 and Xbox 360.

Well I have a gamecube and will have the new Zelda game as soon as it comes out. I think it's cool to be able to play the old school systems. Sometimes you have to take it back.

Once I get a Rev, I'll probably buy Zelda and RE4. Those are the only games I'm interested in on the cube.

zelda looks alsome and i like the aspect of playing as a wolf and on horse combat and will be buying this when it comes out but G.A.M.E. isant so big shure they say they have stuff but the city is wrong if your going to do music and games it would be better to do it at the anehim convention center like E3 more people ould go to it. and i cant wait to get revolution so i can play the back catolog on nintendo games so to all of you fanboys and girls of GAME's rejoice i dont care it you hate this system or that be glad your system has what you want

I miss the good old days of Nintendo 64, when Ninetendo held more of a chunk of the gaming market. Now I own a PS2, but it's not the same without Zelda...

gamecube haters piss me off. There is nothing wrong with the system, most gamers are just so protective of there image that they will call the gc a kiddy system and just not play it because everyone else hates it.

    Posted Dec 2, 2005 2:02 pm PT

Well the console itself is more powerful than the PS2, just because it has a small library of games doesn't mean that it won't rock.

  • Archangel5784

    Posted Dec 2, 2005 2:02 pm PT

HoTillyHooHa, Zelda is coming out for GC without question. There was never any talk of moving it to Revolution, some people just assumed since the release date was pushed back that it would be put on the Rev. They are making a new Zelda for the Rev already, Twilight Princess will be for GC. Granted you can still play it on the Rev.

I would get the new Zelda, but the GameCube has nothing else to offer. What a waste of a good game on a lame console.

Maybe Zelda will actually come out on Gamecube, and not be moved to Revolution. Anyways, why should I care. I sold my gamecube as soon I heard Zelda was postponed from Nov. to Apr. 06 or later. Looks like I'll be waiting for Revolution to play this one.
