$300 Xbox 360 Spring Bundle revealed

US-exclusive bundle includes 250GB system, copies of Darksiders II and Batman: Arkham City, and one-month Xbox Live token.

The spring season does not officially begin until March 20, but for Microsoft, it starts now. The company has announced a new Xbox 360 Spring Bundle that is shipping to retailers in the United States today.

The $300 bundle includes a 250GB system, copies of Darksiders II (physical) and Batman: Arkham City (digital), and a one-month Xbox Live token. No mention was made of a release for the bundle outside of the United States.

Microsoft is expected to announce its next-generation Xbox during a one-off media event in April. Rumors about the console have run rampant, with speculation about the device suggesting it will not work without Kinect, require an Internet connection, block used games, and have Siri-like voice recognition.

None of that, of course, is confirmed.

360's hate spring.  It causes them to explode.

um ya who's buying a 360 knowing that at the end of the year most likely both next gen consoles are coming out and will only cost about 100-200 bucks more then this. Either that or just grab a 360 used and buy those games both new for like 20 bucks each and save yourself a couple hundred bucks. Seriously pawn shops are drowning in these things. A local one near me sells them for like 50-80 bucks depending on how old they are and he has like 30 of them just sitting in the back.

There are 8 more months before November 2012 and this is what Microsoft is ANOUNCING?? I now see why they are not talking about next gen yet.  When you are making HUGE profits on this gen consoles why rush to next gen!!

Well the 250 GB XBox 360 Slim by itself is usually $300. So getting 2 games for free isn't a bad deal. Including at least 6 months of XBL for free would have been nice. At least the XBox 360 Slim is a solid piece of hardware compared to the new toy-like PS3 Slim with top loading access. That thing is so cheaply made, it isn't even funny. Not even worth $200. The original PS3 Slim is great. Still M$ should have dropped the price of the XBox 360 Slim to $250 by now. Maybe they will do that before then launch the XBox Infinity.

@blackace WHY should microsoft drop the price microsoft is making over $100.00 per console sold, then micfosoft hopes people get Live so they can make even more money, or buy a bigger HDD for more Money.

Not much of a value here.

what a retarded bundle

they should give a bundle this: one year of gold+4200 MS points to spend on your choice of games

and that's it!

shoving all sorts of crap won't increase sales

@thequickshooter If they ever had a bundle like that, I would beat the leaving shizz out of your moronic self, and anyone else who buys it. it would be unfair to people who have had the system and live for so long

Ugh $300? Really? I've been considering getting a 250 gb Xbox Slim because I still have the older model Xbox 360 with just a 20gb hard drive and I'm tired of running out of space and having to delete stuff. I'd be willing to pay $200 for this but $300? Come on. With the new Xbox about 9 months away that's just absurd. And what's up with these bundles? I just want the 250gb console, not these extra games and a throwaway 1 month subscription. These bundles usually have games I either already own or have no interest in playing. Maybe I'll just stick it out and wait until the new consoles come out at the end of the year.

@CyberX115 are you seriously that cheap you still have the old premium modal?

if you look on amazon you'll find the halo reach+fable 3 bundle

the best bundle out there for 300$ (250 gig)

CyberX115
CyberX115

@thequickshooter Hey I've had this older Xbox 360 model since 2007 and it's never given me problems. No RROD or any of that crap. As for the Halo Reach and Fable 3 bundle I'm not interested in those franchises. And besides $300 is still a ridiculous price for a 7+ year old game system regardless of bundle or not. $150 - $200 would be much more reasonable in my opinion, especially since the new Xbox is coming out soon.

Microsoft wants to sell as many broken Xboxes as possible before they make the new one with RROD 2.0 and a second redesign.....

blackace
blackace

@IanNottinghamX You do know that RROD has been eliminated since the new XBox 360 Slim was launched right? You're embarrassing yourself, making dumb comments like that.

@blackace thats why I wont be an early adopter of the new Xbox until I see for sure its not a piece of shit like the original 360s were..The slim was also not that good it forced you to buy all new harddrive, all new peripherals it may as well had been a new fucking system....so no Ill hang back and not buy their next system until I see that people arent getting screwed.

Don't know yet. Probably $350-$400. It'll be no more then what the PS4 costs.

Ravenlore_basic
Ravenlore_basic

@blackace @Ravenlore_basic ??? You think $350.00 dollars??? yet microsoft is selling their Xbox 360 for $300.00 now 8 months prior to the next Xbox.

That is sad but if people are ignorant than its on them, unknowing parents or not. ... Still the Xbox 360 has been $299.00 for Years now.

This is a terrible offer, a 250$ bundle comes with a game anyway so you're basically paying 50$ for a digital copy of another one that costs less than that by now.

WOW once again Microsoft just shows how much they LOVE their customers. And So many people will defend this saying, Microsoft is a company that wants to make a profit it is their right to charge what they think people will pay.

But even though Microsoft is launching a ~about $400.00 console this year they still want $300.00 out of people NOW?!!!

I'm sure they want to try and more as many XBox 360 as they can for a profit before then launch the next XBox, because after that, they will have to drop the price of the XBox 360 to $250 or less. The Ps3's deal is no better considering how poorly made the NEW PS3 Slim is. I'm glad I bought my PS3 bundles for some really great prices.  PS3 bundles suck now.

Ravenlore_basic
Ravenlore_basic

@blackace @Ravenlore_basic Well I will NEITHER buy a PS3 or Xbox for a few years. My Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii are good for now. If anything I may get Steam on my PC if I can get it working. I still will need a cheap GC for it.

Those games pretty much come to $30 total for the both of them.

$270 for a 360 is a ripoff.

$279 for a PS3 is a ripoff. Top loading piece of crap. It's not even worth $200 for that hardware. It's completely stripped of everything.

No thanks i'm saving for the new Xbox this holiday.Anyone paying this much this close to next gen is crazy.MS the 360 needs a price drop not 2 crappy game's added to the console.A 250GB cost $100 to make and it's still $299 come on.they should be $199 now and the 4gb $149.

blackace

@smackdowner360

True, everyone should already own an XBox 360 by now anyways.  Batman:AC has won GoTY awards, so you're being stupid to say these games are crappy. That's like saying Uncharted 2 or Journey are crappy. They aren't even making anymore 4GB XBox 360.

BenderUnit22
BenderUnit22

That seems pretty expensive. I bought a 360 2 years ago or so on a special promotion and I got a 250 GB with Alan Wake, Fable 3, Forza 3 and Halo 3 for what amounted to about 250 bucks. Granted, it was a special deal, but Darksiders 2 is like half a year old and Batman is over a year old.

monson21502

ms should tie a year sub on each new 360 sold or the nextbox. if ms played their cards right i think they woulda outs old the wii

What a lame excuse for a bundle. 1 month of Live was always there when you connect a "new" Xbox to the Internet.

@CaptainGamespot Oh come on, ever person who goes through a rough patch with their .... has a time of anguish then reconciliation.  I am sure most people will get over this just like they have gotten over everything else Microsoft has done in the past 10 years.

chingchow48

@CaptainGamespot Well you sure got a good deal than, cause I bought mine in 2009 for 299.99 right after the price drop for the Pro version with a copy of Need For Speed Carbon and NBA Live 2007, and they are packaging amazing games with it now...

Let me guess, the Live subscription automatically renews after the "free" month? I see your game Microsoft.

MetaMods
MetaMods like.author.displayName 1 Like

@Shadow4020 if its prepaid card no, but credit card yeah they do and they will renew it. I remeber you used to cancel it but its somewhere in xbox.com website you have to go throught 5 different pages before you found a small word said cancel xbox live. Now I think you have to called them so they can annoy you before you can cancel it. Now that is their game

DarthUchiha91
DarthUchiha91

@MetaMods @Shadow4020  I'm pretty certain you just click cancel my subscription, an that's all.

Devil_wings00
Devil_wings00

@DarthUchiha91 @MetaMods @Shadow4020 You can turn off the auto renew feature. It's right on the account page online. That said it DOES default to auto renew so you probably won't remember to turn it off until it does it automatically, sticking you with another year of xbox live you may or may not have wanted (talking from experience of someone who hasn't touched a 360 in over a year but got stuck with another year of live he didn't want). Defaulting to auto renew on is complete BS and essentially a sneaky way of stealing your money if you aren't paying attention.
