Fishtank Interactive today announced its upcoming role-playing game, Arx Fatalis. In the game, players will explore the depths of a subterranean medieval fantasy world known as Arx. They must undertake a quest to defeat the evil god of chaos, Akbaa, and his army of minions. The gameworld includes large underground cities, dark dungeons and sewers, and giant caverns.

The game will feature an epic single-player campaign with a variety of subquests, a unique combat system, more than 50 different magic spells, and an online multiplayer deathmatch mode. In addition, detailed 3D environments and advanced lighting and particle effects will add to the game experience.

Arx Fatalis is in development at France-based Arkane Studios, and it is scheduled for release in November. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
